Anchor Bolt

An anchor bolt is embedded in wet concrete (cast-in-place) or drilled and set afterward (post-installed) to attach sill plates, columns, equipment pads, or other structural elements to a concrete foundation or slab. Anchor placement, embedment depth, and edge distance are all specified on structural drawings since they directly affect the connection's load capacity.
