Batch Plant

A batch plant is a facility where cement, aggregate, water, and admixtures are measured to a specific mix design and combined before being loaded into a mixer truck for delivery to a jobsite.

Batch plants can be central-mix (mixing happens at the plant) or transit-mix (dry or partially mixed materials are combined in the truck drum en route). Either way, the truck typically arrives with a full drum and returns with residual concrete stuck to the chute, drum, and fins — the material a washout pan is built to catch.
