Bleeding (Concrete Bleeding)

Bleeding is the appearance of water on top of freshly placed concrete as the heavier solids — cement and aggregate — settle downward under gravity shortly after placement. Some bleeding is normal; finishing operations like floating or troweling before bleed water has evaporated can trap it below the surface and cause scaling or a weak, dusting top layer.
