Overlay (Concrete Overlay)

A concrete overlay is a thin layer — often 1/4 inch to a few inches — of new concrete or a specialty cementitious topping applied over an existing, structurally sound slab to resurface, level, or decoratively refinish it without a full slab replacement.

Overlays require proper surface prep (cleaning, profiling, and sometimes a bonding agent) to keep the new layer from delaminating from the old slab.
