Concrete Glossary

Yield (Concrete Yield)

Yield is the actual volume of concrete a batch produces compared to the theoretical volume calculated from its mix design, expressed in cubic yards or as a percentage. Low yield can mean a mix was under-batched or that ordered quantities won't cover the planned pour.

Yield calculations are closely related to slab, footing, and column volume takeoffs used to plan both material orders and, downstream, how much washout capacity a pour is likely to need.
