Core Sample (Coring)

A core sample is a cylindrical piece of concrete drilled out of an existing slab, wall, or structural member using a diamond core bit, then tested (often via compression testing) to verify in-place strength, measure thickness, or investigate a suspected defect — a destructive alternative to non-destructive testing methods.
