Cylinder Break (Compression Test)

A cylinder break is the standardized lab test used to verify concrete's compressive strength: cylindrical samples cast at the time of a pour are cured, then crushed in a hydraulic press — typically at 7 and 28 days — with the failure load converted to PSI. Results are compared against the specified design strength to confirm the mix performed as intended.
