Concrete Glossary

Entrapped Air

Entrapped air refers to the naturally occurring, irregularly shaped and randomly sized air voids present in any concrete mix, as opposed to the small, evenly distributed, spherical bubbles deliberately created by an air-entraining admixture. Entrapped air alone does very little to improve freeze-thaw resistance.
