Expansion Joint Filler

Expansion joint filler is a compressible material — commonly asphalt-impregnated fiberboard or closed-cell foam — placed within an isolation or expansion joint before a pour, allowing the slab to expand and contract while keeping incompressible debris out of the joint gap.
