Exposed Aggregate Finish

An exposed aggregate finish is a decorative surface treatment where the thin layer of cement paste at the very top of a slab is removed — by surface retarder and washing, or later mechanical exposure — to reveal the coarse aggregate underneath, creating a textured, often decorative appearance.
