Inlet Protection

Inlet protection is a BMP — often a fabric barrier, gravel bag ring, or drop inlet filter — installed around a storm drain inlet to filter sediment out of runoff before it enters the storm sewer system, while still allowing water through so the inlet doesn't flood the surrounding area.
