Dowel (Rebar Dowel)

A dowel is a short steel bar placed across a joint between two concrete placements — commonly at slab control or construction joints — to transfer load from one side to the other while still allowing the joint to open and close slightly with temperature changes. One end is typically greased or sleeved so it can slide freely.
