Silt Fence

Silt fence is a temporary barrier made of geotextile fabric stretched between stakes, installed along a site's downhill perimeter or across a slope to filter sediment out of sheet-flow runoff before it leaves the site. It's one of the most common — and most frequently mis-installed — sediment BMPs on a SWPPP.
