Superplasticizer (High-Range Water Reducer)

A superplasticizer, or high-range water reducer, is an admixture that dramatically increases a mix's flowability and slump without adding extra water — unlike simply adding water, which would weaken the mix. Superplasticizers are what make high-strength concrete and self-consolidating concrete possible while keeping the water-cement ratio low.
