Underdrain

An underdrain is a perforated pipe, typically wrapped in a gravel envelope and geotextile filter, buried beneath a drainage layer, sports field, retaining wall backfill, or stormwater facility to collect infiltrated or seepage water and carry it to an outlet, preventing waterlogging or hydrostatic buildup above.
