Wind Load

Wind load is the lateral (sideways) and uplift force that wind pressure exerts on a structure, calculated from local design wind speed, building height and shape, and exposure category. It's one of the primary lateral loads — alongside seismic load — that shear walls, bracing, and foundations must be designed to resist.
